What is the Scaleup Score?

0 SCALEUP SCORE · 0 TO 1000 Illustrative score, not a real assessment

The Scaleup Score is an independent measure of your startup's scaling readiness, benchmarked against the proven traits and patterns that separate the 5% who scale from the 95% who don't.

It's calculated by evaluating your startup across five domains - using data from your connected business tools, public sources, and a short set of targeted questions. The result is a single score from 0 to 1000, with a full breakdown showing exactly what's driving it.

This isn't a prediction. It's a diagnostic - a clear, evidence-based picture of where your business is right now and what you can do to improve.

The full picture of scaling readiness.

Your Scaleup Score spans five domains that together capture every dimension of what it takes to scale. Each domain is scored independently, so you can see exactly where you're strong and where to focus.

  • Domain A

    Founder & Team

Experience, composition, capability. The people behind the business and whether the team has what the evidence shows is needed to scale.

  • Domain B

    Product & Market

Product-market fit signals, learning velocity. Whether your product is solving a real problem for a real market - and how fast you're learning.

  • Domain C

    Business & Metrics

Unit economics, efficiency, runway. The financial and operational health of your business - the numbers that matter for sustainable growth.

  • Domain D

    Environment & Infrastructure

Regulatory context, ecosystem connectivity. The external factors and operational foundations that accelerate or constrain your growth.

  • Domain E

    Capital Stack

Funding sources, investor composition. How your capital structure supports your scaling ambitions - and where it might hold you back.

This isn't a prediction. It's a diagnostic.

A score that told you your future would be a guess dressed up as a number. This one tells you where you are.

How your score is built.

Pixie evaluates your startup across five domains using benchmarks drawn from real scaleup performance. Each benchmark was tested against historical outcomes before it was admitted to the model, and is weighted by your startup's specific stage and adjusted by data confidence levels.

  • Inputs

    Data sources

Your score draws on three types of data: connected integrations (Stripe, Xero, HubSpot, LinkedIn and many more), public domain sources where available, and a short set of targeted questions that capture what data alone can't.

  • Weighting

    Confidence tiers

Not all data is equal. Pixie assigns a confidence tier to every data point to ensure scoring integrity. Tier 1 (authoritative) carries full weight - regulatory or government-verified data, or strong empirical evidence. Tier 2 (empirical) carries reduced weight - verified by three or more independent sources. Tier 3 (directional) carries lower weight - limited sources, treated as indicative.

  • Provenance

    Total auditability

Your Scaleup Score is fully auditable. Every component is traceable to its specific source data, including the date and provenance of that data. You can see exactly what's driving your score and why. No black box.
